Warlord Games has revealed East Africa Command, one of the new forces in the Armies of the British Commonwealth book for Bolt Action. It doesn’t represent one country. It brings together the many colonial formations Britain raised across Africa, and that variety shows in how the army plays.

What the Army Does
- Pangas turns most of your force into Tough Fighters, so close combat is very much on the table.
- Local Area Control and Scouts give you strong outflanking and plenty of Infiltrators, which suits board control or getting stuck in early.
- Desert Mounted Infantry puts troops on camels for extra speed.
- Nigerian Chindits unlock expensive but deadly elite light infantry built for jungle fighting.

Our Take at Xpidemix
For us, this update finally fleshes out the Far East front of the war. It gives a more detailed account of the situations and conditions these troops fought in, and the latest rules reflect that nicely.
Warlord has also confirmed new plastic Chindits. Speaking as someone who owns the whole range of the original metal Chindits, I’ve found the plastics come out slightly bigger than the metal figures while keeping the same look. That’s good news for anyone hoping to add the new kits to an existing collection.
