About Infinity D20 RPG
Infinity RPG is a science fiction role-playing game published by Modiphius Entertainment, set in the rich universe of Corvus Belli’s acclaimed Infinity tabletop skirmish wargame. It transports players into a high-tech, far-future world known as the Human Sphere — a network of interconnected planets and factions linked by wormhole technology (quantonic jumps), where advanced AI, cybernetic enhancements, genetic engineering, and brutal corporate/military intrigue define daily life.
The Setting
In the 22nd century (the Infinity timeline), humanity has spread across the stars but remains fractured. Major powers vie for dominance:
- PanOceania — Technologically supreme hyperpower with vast corporate influence.
- Yu Jing — A powerful, disciplined Asian bloc emphasizing harmony and state control.
- Ariadna — Hardy descendants of lost colonists, rugged survivalists with a Wild West/Highlander flair.
- Haqqislam — Merchants, scholars, and free thinkers who excel in diplomacy, medicine, and subterfuge.
- Nomads — Decentralized space-dwellers who reject centralized AI control and champion freedom and hacking.
- Other factions including mercenaries, O-12 (international oversight body), and threats from beyond like the alien Combined Army on Paradiso.
The setting blends hard military sci-fi, cyberpunk intrigue, espionage, exploration, and transhumanist themes. Players can fight on the frontlines of alien invasions, dive into quantronic (digital) networks, engage in political maneuvering, or explore the mysteries of the Human Sphere and beyond.
Game System
Infinity RPG uses Modiphius’ acclaimed 2d20 system (a modified d20 variant):
- Roll 1–2 twenty-sided dice (d20s) and try to score successes under a target number derived from Attribute + Skill.
- Generate Momentum on great rolls to fuel powerful actions or buy narrative advantages.
- Manage Heat as the GM — a pool of points representing escalating tension, complications, and enemy opportunities.
- Supports three intertwined battlefields: Warfare (physical combat), Infowar (hacking and quantronics), and Psywar (social and psychological manipulation).
The system is designed for fast, cinematic play while offering depth for tactical and narrative-focused groups. It shines in mixed scenes where characters switch between gunfights, network intrusions, and tense negotiations.
What You Can Expect
- Deep character creation with lifepaths, customizable backgrounds, and extensive gear/options reflecting the setting’s factions and transhuman tech.
- Adventures ranging from small-scale heists and investigations to epic campaigns involving alien threats and interstellar politics.
- Support for different play styles — from gritty street-level stories to high-octane special operations.
Whether you’re a fan of the Infinity miniatures game looking to expand into roleplaying, or a sci-fi RPG enthusiast seeking a detailed, faction-rich universe with excellent mechanics, Infinity RPG delivers a compelling experience full of action, intrigue, and endless possibilities in the Human Sphere.
